Identical to the Meade #608062 focal reducer, Optec's Lepus-SCT 0.62X telecompressor lens is designed especially for use with the Meade ACF Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes. Featuring a standard female SCT 2"x24tpi thread to attach directly to the rear cell thread of most SCT scopes, the Lepus-SCT presents a male SCT thread for attachment of the camera package.

The standard 105mm back-focus distance (100mm on axis) is recommended for best performance.

Includes a 50mm long Universal T-thread adapter with Meade logo for most cameras having the standard 55mm flange back-focus distance. This includes most DSLR cameras with T-rings. Universal T-thread adapter can be removed to expose the male SCT thread for camera packages exceeding 55mm back-focus distance.


NOTE: While the Lepus focal reducer/telecompressor provides a 0.62X magnification, the design is not parfocal. Thus, a de-focus of the SCT of about two turns of the coarse focal knob pushes the primary mirror forward. This increase the native focal length and f-ratio of the Meade ACF which will yield an effective f-ratio of about f/6.8 with a native f/10 (nominal) ACF telescope. Thus Meade referred to this product as a 0.68X focal reducer.
